The truly devastating part of this fire is the length of time it will take to grow back…most of these pine trees and aspen trees are at least 50-100 years old, so I will never get to view the Alpine that I knew only weeks ago.
That being said, regrowth has to begin somewhere, and rebuilding the natural beauty of this land and making it bountiful for wildlife and for future generations is the only action we have.
I will be contacting logging companies or plant nursery stores to try to help as well, and hopefully we can put together a volunteer project to begin the rebuilding process.
